This easy to build kite kit uses Tyvek® for its "No-Sew" construction technique. The large surface of the Rokkaku is ideal for a wide variety of decoration styles and it's a great flier too! 	We developed this kite kit with the novice kite maker in mind. With a more traditional construction than most kite kits, our kit allows the builder to enjoy the experience of creating their own kite without the need to know how to sew. This 48" Rokkaku kite kit comes complete with a pre-cut Tyvek® sail, adhesive backed Dacron® reinforcements and corner pocket system, pre-cut hardwood spars, pre-measured bridle and tensioning lines and full color instructions including Tyvek® Painting Tips and Some useful Knots reference sheets. The tough Tyvek® sail is easily decorated with Sharpie® markers or Acrylic paints. The kite when completed measures 42"w x 48"h.

	The Rokkaku was developed in the Shirone region of Japan. “Ro” is the Japanese word for the number ‘six’ and ‘kaku’ means sides or points. This kite is often referred to as a Sanjo Rokkaku. It was designed for stability and power when flown in kite battling contests. The original kites were huge and required teams of people to fly them.

	The Rokkaku has become a favorite among modern day kiters. The broad sail is ideal for decorating. With a few bridle and/or tension line adjustments, it is able to fly in light to strong winds and has an incredible range of flight characteristics from slow and steady to quick and darting for battle situations.
